Was just faffing around on the internet and found this:
https://data.cityofchicago.org/Transportation/Towed-Vehicles/ygr5-vcbgIt's a list of all the cars towed in the city of Chicago and every details about the car and how to retrieve it with ease.
This makes me remember an incident that happened some weeks ago when my friend's car was towed on the Island and we had no idea where d car was towed to...
I'm sure things like these are not difficult to implement if we had a serious Government especially now that we are hearing that they want to aggregate all the data from all the Data collection agencies (NIMC et co.) into a single databank. http://dejiabiri.blogspot.com.ng/2015/12/data-collection-agencies-get.html
Worthy of mention is that the Chicago govt data site mentioned above ( https://data.cityofchicago.org/ ) contains other useful information set such as crime reports, inventory of Government workers, business licenses, police stations, etc
