I started a public project about 3 months back, my sojourn into building a web startup. I built a hyperlocal classified site for University communities at pinforest.com, the idea: sell anything to anyone within your school. It's been fun and tiring, the books, blogs and lessons learned are invaluable.

Just like me, there are tons of young persons seeking to start an internet business (a blog counts as a business) and they're looking for the best tools to increase productivity/engagement/traffic/views/shares at minimal costs. So, I wrote a blog post on 25 really awesome tools to build a web startup that have been more than useful to us. I hope you find it useful, and I hope other persons on here will share their own hacks too.

On a side note, this was the earliest lesson I learned when starting out - BUILD YOUR PRODUCT TEAM AND DEVELOP YOUR PRODUCT. It might be hard but you will be happy you did, it's how full stack founders are made. And if you're non-technical, this will make you sit down and focus on the core of your product. And if you think hard enough, you might get your MVP to the market without writing any code. Joel from Buffer wrote at length on this, worthy read: My advice to non-technical founders

Lastly, keep on changing that business model until you find one that works, find ways to reduce churn while trying to find revenue models. Unless you'll be forced to do this when you're out of money or die; except you get funded. I am at this junction, so I know where the shoe hurts.
