Hello Ya'll,
.africa is here, I suppose some of you are already aware. So far we have seen the likes of forloop.africa jump on the ship at GigaLayer, and many more (not authorized to list). I think it has created a new avenue for one to register domain names that allow startups target the whole continent.
There are lots of available domain names in the .africa name space, since it only publicly launched today going for $30 (N10,500) per year at GigaLayer. You can register one right now: https://gigalayer.com/dot-africa. Although some names are held premium by the registry, many more are available!
Let's get back to the essence of this post.
Do you think .africa is a great extension? and please share whether or not you will use it. I would love to hear peoples opinions. Personally, I am grabbing a few for my future projects.
The .africa is also cheaper than many african extensions like .rw, .ly, .mz and .ng that are going for higher cost and still it gives you access to the whole continent; do you think this will cause them to cost less very soon?
Would you rather use .africa than .com alternatively if you own both?
