Coders4Africa, the largest network of African software developers, is hosting its first conference in Nigeria in late November. All software and application developers, techies, technopreneurs and computer science students are invited to register and attend. The conference will be held on Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29 at the National Open University of Nigeria in the Abuja campus.
The goal of Coders4Africa’s first Nigeria conference event is to explore the many opportunities that exist in Nigeria’s growing coding and tech space. The conference will include development sessions in web, mobile, and cloud technology as well as discussions centered on drone tech and blockchain. Sponsors and partners include IBM Cloud, African Technology Foundation, Pluralsight, tiphub, DroneCast, and Creative Tech Works.
While “Silicon Cape” and “Silicon Savannah” have gotten much of the media’s attention, Nigeria is also home to some of the continent’s most innovative ventures including Hotels.ng (accommodation booking), Fashpa (fashion e-commerce), Jobberman (jobs), and Paga (mobile payments). Nigeria’s 170 million population–and thus the possibility to scale–is attracting startup founders among locals, diaspora, and foreigners alike.
Founded in 2009, Coders4Africa is a full-service software and consulting startup with 1400 members in the United States and across the African continent.
