Why are new technologies getting dumber

So, I've been fascinated by the new verve paycode cashless atm withdrawal. Used it several times and it worked. So this evening, feeling like a superman, I generated another paycode from my phone and decided to take a stroll to the atm machine along the road. Reached the atm, put in all the details and waited for my mulla. But no. The machine wrote a big 'Thank you' and that was it. I checked other ATMs, the same problem. So I decide to check the verve app, maybe to generate another paycode. But lo, I was already debited! I no vex, ok let me contact them? No contact details aha!

So, if I have issues using the app, I can't even send an error report? Pheww! I wouldn't even want to talk about how many times the app crashed, rejected my details, failed to generate a paycode after several trials etc.

I'm really baffled why new technologies that promise to ease our way of life contribute so much to our frustrations. They claim to be smart yet dumber than the norm they try to change. This is why I don't really blame people who prefer standing on long queues just so they could avoid these head banging frustrations. Now I no fit chop correct dinner
