I didn't really know what to title this post (forgive if it looks clickbaity)
Well presently I work for a Nigeria News Website, and we need to launch a new website for a part of the company which will focus on a specific category and I was asked to work on the website and also develop a mobile app. I told my M.D that I will gladly work on both but he should understand that even though I have an introductory knowledge of Java, but I have never successfully set up an app using the android studio software. Though I knew it was going to take time I still decided to go with that it will speed up my learning rate.Fast forward to a couple of mins later I got the shock of my life (I have heard worse than that, though), he said he has designed apps for various of the company's websites and some other websites affiliated with the company using an app builder.
Segun Sobulo who was someone I interned under already told me point blank that I can never develop an app in 5mins and that idea has been shut out of my head never to return.
Back to the issue at hand, my CEO told me "of what use is developing an app from scratch and have few downloads, when you can use an app builder and be done with it in less than an hour and push downloads to it from Facebook adverts". There and then, I knew I was in the wrong place, I was actually thinking of gaining experience in a Programming and I needed to try out some things in the real world . I need to break stuff to learn to fix them.At the moment, if you know a place where I can intern and their first aim is actually programming I am in. Please note that I am not a developer yet, and I am always willing to try out new things.
I almost went through with my Andela registration but had to shun it cos of school. If you at your startup or your agency will be willing to take me on as an intern, then am in if it is a job role that enables me to learn more on Programming (salary or allowance inclusive).
If you are able to help drop your comments or request for my Resume
