I founded SpareDesk available at http://www.sparedesk.com.ng. So during the cause of my meeting with my colleagues at my former work place, I meet this interesting dude, the guy rocks (I mean he's in a rock band!), he grew as passionate about the startup as I was and I official adopted him as a running mate (you know, no time to check time). My contribution 1. The idea (vision) 2.Technical expertise (I'm the one writing code for the site) 3. Financial (I'm the first investor in the startup, as I bought the domain, the servers and a couple other marketing gimmicks) 3. Writing business plan plus other pitches on various platforms . My co-founder's contributions to the startup are basically: 1. business and 2. Marketing strategies because I'm more of a software developer than a sales person or a marketer, clearly put - I prefer staying in doors writing code all day than going out to meet customers. So I'm asking smart guys in this community - How do I split equity fairly between me and co-founder should it be 50/50, 60/40 70/40 or 80/20? As i don't want either party to be cheated.
